My video gaming history
Us gamers had to start somewhere. My lens will show my introduction to the wonderful world of video gaming.
Hello fellow gamers, I salute you and welcome to my personal video gaming history. As a young boy I spent my days playing with other children outside running around playing Football, hide and seek, mainly social activities. That was my first MMO you might say :D
I come from a poor family and we lived off our own crops and mostly delivering milk to our customers, the usual village things. Compared to the other kids, some of them wanted to ride on the tractor or get a bike for their birthday, I had no such needs. Being the only person in the village who knew English, I sought out something different, THE VIRTUAL WORLD OF GAMES!
Hop on aboard and enjoy the journey, this is how it all began!
This is how it all began!
Some of the old beasts that used to invoke and inspire our imagination.
The commodore 64
That old jewel
This was my first introduction to the gaming community, every now and then after coming back from school I would find my dad with his friends doing something other than drinking. This time it was different, one of them brought something, even now I remember how much it perplexed, leaving me speechless, it looked like a giant calculator with no screen. I sat there and watched as they hooked it up and it was linked with all kinds of cables going from the TV to the big calculator. After that I saw them bringing up something else, it was like a big Walkman, and then I just assumed " oh it's just plays music tapes " I then got up and started walking out of the room knowing I will get terribly bored listening to their old music. I didn't even reach the door, and that magical sound of 8 bit music wonder stooped me in my tracks.
WHAT MADNESS IS THIS! My mind was being introduced to some strange feeling that is forcing me to pay attention to this strange device. It was then i realized, I am terribly addicted to this and no amount of hide and seek will get me away from this wonderful machine!
This is something you might want to get just to remember all the hours you spent playing it.
It is a wonderful console and it sure does give you that nostalgia feeling.
How many of these will you remember?
At a young age I fell in love with video games, it all started with the Commodore 64
Playvalue presents
Next up the NES!
We all remember it
Ah yes, the NES how much fun I had with this system I can't even describe it in this short lens. It all began after I passed the 4 th grade with all strait A's. I was given a choice of 1 gift as a reward, it was either, a bike or the NES. The choice was not very hard to make considering that I can't throw fireballs at dragons on any bike, so go figure what I picked :D
This was a new direction of video games that Nintendo wanted to dictate, and they did a very good job at it considering they knew what the consumers wanted and liked. I remember playing a lot of duck hunt with my dad, he is a hunter and he found it very satisfying to shoot at ducks flying all over the screen. Mario was a very good attention grabber, all of my friends came to see me play considering I was the only kid that owned such a thing.
The NES had a rich library of interesting games ranging from poorly executed story telling to incredibly complex game play. It just did it all right in all the right places.
This is the affordable NES clone which will do it's job as it's predecessor
Sega and Nintendo places to visit.

SEGA!!!!
Sega Genesis
Oh goodness me just remembering this system gives me immense joy!
Good old Sega, what can I tell you about it that you don't already know, it still stands as one of the memorable gaming consoles ever, I mean everyone knows SEGA! Just think about it, if Sonic, Comix Zone, Shining Force, Mortal Combat were not able to grab your attention I don't know what will. So many good games were released for Sega I can't even remember all of the good ones. Almost every single one I played was amazing!!! Comparing it to the 8 bit NES i had it's no wonder why I switched. I owned the big black version of the console, the slim one is not that impressive.
I know that i lost sleep over this system more than I should have but it was just that AWESOME! You know what, I am going to play some Sega right now, yes that's what I'll do, SONIC here I come!
Get the big one! Bigger is better :D
After the NES with all it's glory Sega triumphed with it's superior 16-bit graphics
Super Nintendo Entertainment System
You may have guessed it already but ever since Nintendo released the SNES my love for it grew even stronger. I was always a Nintendo kid and I knew it's fame didn't come from suckering kids into buying bad games, it was just that good! Now with the new and advanced version of the system, there was introduced a complete new way of giving the consumer a new way to interact with the game, the first ever side buttons on a game pad. They were not just 2 new buttons that you used randomly, it was an incredibly way of simplifying the game-play. You don't have too look down and see which button to push, they were right where your fingers went when you would grab the game pad, pretty unique at the time.
The SNES also came with a wide variety of games that did not disappoint not in the slightest. There is no time to name them all so let's just name a few that I played back then.
1. Super Mario Bros
2. The legend of zelda
3. Yoshi's Island
4.Captain Commando
5. Wild Guns
Have fun with that :)
Amazon Spotlight Personal Review
Here is a 2 in 1
RinriGameGame personally reviewed it!
RinryGameGame!
She is just awesome, I love hearing her reviews.
It didn't take long for Nintendo to realize what it's fans were waiting for, hence came the SNES, also 16-bit graphics.
The rest as we say is history!
Today we have a choice of only 3 consoles, the Wii/Wii U the Play Station/1,2,3 and the X-box/X-box 360. Not many to pick from but those are the ones that survived. Today I only own the Wii and rent the others when I need them. To this day I am still a Nintendo fan and from how it's looking it just might continue. So play your new consoles and if you still have an old Sega or SNES hook them up from time to time to relive your childhood memories and be transported back to you earliest video gaming history.
Thank you for reading this LENS! HAPPY GAMING!
